Bethard brand ambassador Zlatan Ibrahimovic teases Spain launch
Operator receives Spanish licence as part of regulated market targeting strategy

Bethard launched a Spanish version of its website this week after receiving a licence from the Spanish regulator (DGOJ).
The operator’s brand ambassador Zlatan Ibrahimović announced the launch of the site on his Twitter feed on Thursday, with the Bethard.es site now accepting Spanish players.
It followed a series of tweets which led many football fans believing he would be transferring back to La Liga from his current side LA Galaxy.

Bethard is currently licensed in Sweden, the UK, Ireland, Denmark, Malta and is aiming to have licenses in all of the key markets for egaming and sports betting by 2021.
Erik Skarp, CEO of Bethard Group, hailed the Spanish market as one with lots of potential for the business going forward.
“Even though we have experienced short-term challenges as a consequence of operating in regulated markets, we still believe that long term value and stability resides in such jurisdictions,” Skarp added.
The operator launched a new casino lobby in May, with players landing on the homepage also directed to that vertical.
The brand said it saw more opportunities for growth in casino because it owned its own technology, unlike sportsbook.
In September, Bethard joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), signing an agreement to share its betting data on the IBIA’s betting monitoring platform with the aim of identifying suspicious betting patterns.
