
Gambling.com Group bolsters sports betting portfolio with Bookies.com acquisition
Affiliate firm buys Bell Internet-owned football site and assets for £6.5m to cement its position in the UK sports betting market


Affiliate marketing powerhouse Gambling.com Group has acquired football betting site Bookies.com and related assets for £6.5m.
The acquisition marks a forceful move into the sports betting vertical for the Group, which has historically been focused on the online casino market.
The purchase also includes the Bookmakers.co.uk and FootballScores.com websites, along with 76 sports betting and casino related domain names.
Gambling.com Group has paid an initial £2m for Bookies.com and its related sites, which generated more than £600k in the last three months of 2017.
Group CEO Charles Gillespie said: “This is both the largest and most exciting acquisition we have done since we began acquiring in 2017.
“These websites perfectly complement our existing portfolio in terms of both increasing our sports betting market share and continuing with our focus on big brands and big domains,” he added.
