Michael Jordan doubles down on Sportradar stake in special advisory role
Data giant’s relationship with Chicago Bulls legend will now be extended to include US marketplace and product development expertise

Sportradar has appointed NBA legend Michael Jordan as special advisor to its board of directors.
Jordan was an early investor in the data provider and has increased his investment in the firm following his appointment.
He will now provide the board with strategic guidance as part of his new role with a focus on the US market, product development and marketing.
Sportradar noted Jordan’s “expertise in establishing impactful business partnerships” within the sports industry would be beneficial to the company moving forwards.
On September 14, Jordan was present for Sportradar’s Nasdaq bell ringing ceremony as the company celebrated its IPO launch.
Carsten Koerl, Sportradar CEO, said: “As an early investor in Sportradar, Michael saw the potential in our company.
“We are thrilled to now tap into his entrepreneurial savvy and business acumen as we develop the next wave of solutions and offerings that will maximize engagement across sports,” he added.
Jordan commented: “I invested in Sportradar years ago because I believed in the vision and passion that Carsten and the rest of the team had for transforming the sports technology industry.
“I am looking forward to having a formal role with the company as it begins its next chapter.”
Jordan holds a similar advisory role with sports betting operator DraftKings.
