
New Jersey online growth dips to 13% in December
Casino vertical endures worst growth since March 2016, although revenues still increase by double digits


New Jersey has posted a 13% year-on-year rise in online gaming revenues to $20.8m for December, one of the state’s lowest increases in years.
Casino was up 16% year-on-year to $18.8m, marking the first time since March 2016 it hasn’t topped the 20% growth mark in a month. The vertical also declined 3% month-on-month.
Poker enjoyed something of a dead cat bounce after November’s poor performance, climbing 4% sequentially to $1.9m, albeit still down 8% year-on-year.
Total online gaming revenues for the year climbed 25% to $245.6m.
Golden Nugget and its licensees continued to lead the market with monthly revenues of $6.1m, up 27% year-on-year.
The Borgata also enjoyed a successful month, growing 16% to $4.3m.
Elsewhere Caesars Interactive took third place in the market with revenues of $3.8m, ahead of Tropicana with $3.4m and Resorts with $3.2m.
On the poker side, Caesars’ networks including 888 and WSOP, saw revenues drop 20% year-on-year, while PokerStars also declined.
Only the Borgata, whose networks include Pala Poker and partypoker, saw poker revenues hold steady.
