Executives mark Safer Gambling Week with safer gambling training initiative
Participants to complete five online modules covering customer vulnerability, mental health, safeguarding, customer interaction and support services

YGAM and Betknowmore have launched the ‘Safer Gambling Training Leaders Pledge’ to coincide with Safer Gambling Week which will put industry executives through a training programme on player protection and harm prevention.
Over the course of five days, participants will complete five online modules covering the areas of customer vulnerability, mental health, safeguarding, customer interaction and support services.
The training, which is a blend of knowledge, insight and research covering various aspects of gambling and its harms, has achieved the City & Guilds Assured status following an evaluation process, so the participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
“We are pleased to see so many industry leaders committing to this training during Safer Gambling Week,” Niall O’Connor of YGAM said.
“It is really encouraging to see chief executives and directors from across the industry getting involved including representatives from the Rank Group, Gamesys, Playtech, Broadway Gaming and many more,” O’Connor added.
Meanwhile, Ian Ince, chief compliance officer at Playtech, commented: “We are pleased to be working with YGAM and Betknowmore UK to deploy this new, comprehensive training programme. This learning programme will play an integral role in enhancing the skills of our colleagues to reduce gambling-related harm and safeguard players as well as helping to raise standards across the industry.”
Meanwhile, all profits generated from the programme will be directed back into the YGAM and Betknowmore charities.
