GVC revamps bonus mechanics to meet new regulatory standards
New bonus terms came into play on 1 March following increased CMA oversight of the industry

GVC has revised the way it offers bonus promotions in the UK to meet new requirements set out by the CMA last month, EGR understands.
The new system, which came into force on 1 March, will give players access to their own cash at all times, per the CMA’s recent requirements.
The competition watchdog has insisted players must always be able to access and release their own money.
GVC declined to comment further on the specific changes made for fear of bonus abuse, although brands like Partycasino now offer 50 free spins with zero wagering requirements.
A spokesman for GVC, confirmed to EGR the operator carried out a comprehensive review of all of its UK promotions and bonuses.
“ making any adjustments necessary to ensure that we are compliant with the new requirements. We have worked hard in a short space of time to ensure our standards are in accordance with best industry practice.” he added.
The firm was hit with a £350k fine in February for misleading terms in a bonus offer on GVC sites.
Widespread changes to bonusing are expected across the industry this month, with the CMA saying its proposed changes should largely have been made by the end of February.
The CMA has this week launched further enforcement action against a number of operators for putting “unfair obstacles” in the way of players withdrawing funds.
