LeoVegas names new COO in latest management shift
Noel Zammit steps up from operations director as LeoVegas continues to ring senior changes ahead of MGM deal closure

LeoVegas has appointed its former head of responsible gambling Noel Zammit as its new chief operating officer (COO).
Zammit steps up to the group’s C-level after more than six years with the company when he joined as head of customer support in July 2016.
In September 2018, Zammit was promoted to head of customer support, responsible gambling and risk, fraud and payments.
Another promotion quickly followed in January 2020 when Zammit was named as operations director for the operator.
In his new role, Zammit is set to replace current interim COO Hanna Lerenius, who stepped into the role to replace Mårten Forste in late 2020.
Forste was named as COO in January 2020 to replace the outgoing Richard Woodbridge.
Zammit will join group CEO Gustaf Hagman and newly appointed chief commercial officer Chris Welch on the operator’s top team.
The firm also recently promoted Robert Farrugia from commercial and data and analytics director to become its chief data officer.
Elsewhere, LeoVegas named former Svenska Spel and Kindred Group exec Per Carlander as its new director of sports strategy earlier this week.
Zammit’s shift to the C-level comes ahead of MGM Resorts International’s multi-million-dollar purchase of LeoVegas.
