BGC members to donate profits from Royal Ascot's Britannia Stakes to charity
Fundraising drive to build on £1.25m raised in 2021 with 11 operators taking part

With Royal Ascot kicking off on Tuesday 14 June, a number of operators will be donating all profits from the Britannia Stakes to various charities in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The race, which traditionally takes place on the third day of the festival after the Gold Cup, will see BGC members including Flutter, bet365, Entain, William Hill, BetVictor, Kindred, Betway Rank Group, Virgin Bet, Tote, Fitzdares and Bet With Ascot all signed up to the initiative.
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, Sue Ryder, Ascot Racecourse Supports Community Fund, The Ivors Academy and Cotswold Riding for the Disabled will all be beneficiaries.
Win and each-way singles profits will be donated, and all operators have confirmed that if no profit is recorded, a donation will still be made.
Last year the Britannia Stakes fundraising drive generated £1.25m following the victory of 18/1 shot Peretto.
Michael Dugher, chief executive of the BGC said: “I am absolutely delighted that the BGC’s largest members are once again raising vital funds at the Royal meeting for some of the country’s top charities, especially in this, the year of the Queen’s Jubilee.
“Her Majesty’s passion for horseracing is known across the globe. It’s a sport that has the power to bring people together and Royal Ascot is one of the great highlights of the calendar.”
The Britannia Stakes is a heritage handicap and is being run on 16 June at 5.00pm. King Of Time, ridden by William Buick is the current 5/1 market leader.
