DraftKings adds Flutter exec as VP of platform product
US operator recruits industry stalwart Gary Wimbridge to lead product team after spells with Betfair, Sky Vegas and Paddy Power
DraftKings has appointed Flutter Entertainment exec Gary Wimbridge as its new VP of platform product.
Wimbridge joins the US giant from Flutter, where he served as product director from August 2019 until December 2021
Wimbridge boasts an extensive industry CV, having previously spent more than five years with Betfair across a series of senior ecommerce roles.
The former Sky Vegas head has also spent time at fellow Flutter brands Paddy Power and Ladbrokes.
Wimbridge also had a spell with Aditi Technologies, where he was responsible for developing betting and gaming verticals within the group.
Posting on LinkedIn, Wimbridge noted he was working on a product recruitment drive for the Boston-headquartered operator.
He said: “As many of you will have seen, after eight years at Flutter, I decided to move on to new pastures.
“I recently joined the amazing team at Draftkings. We are looking for product experts across the board at all levels,” he added.
DraftKings is preparing to go live in Ontario after it had its licence application approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
The firm also recently posted a 34% year-on-year rise in Q1 revenue to $417m, along with a net loss increase of 35% to $467.6m.
