Casinos Austria appoints Holland Casino CEO as new general director
Move comes after incumbent general director announced in March that she was stepping down

Casinos Austria (CASAG) has appointed Holland Casino CEO Erwin van Lambaart as general director (GD) following a meeting of the supervisory board. Van Lambaart will move to the board of management on 14 March 2022 and will assume the role of GD on 1 April.
The executive change will conclude a near-year-long search for a successor to Bettina Glatz-Kremsner, who announced in March 2021 that she would not be renewing her position as CEO of CASAG citing “personal reasons”.
The nomination comes following a consultation period with executive recruitment specialist, Chicago-based Spencer Stuart.
Van Lambaart will arrive having been CEO of Holland Casino since 2016 where he oversaw a restructuring operation that led to it becoming one of the leading casino operators in the Netherlands.
The nomination committee at Casinos Austria deliberated over three nominated candidates before unanimously deciding on van Lambaart, having established objective criteria for the new candidate that included professional experience in the gambling sector as well as meeting requirements defined by the Gaming Act.
Board member Christine Catasta said: “I am delighted that in Erwin van Lambaart we have been able to win an internationally experienced manager for the future of Casinos Austria AG. Erwin van Lambaart is a seasoned professional who has a thorough understanding of the gaming industry. Due to his many years of experience at the state-owned Holland Casino, which operates 14 casinos, he will work together with the employees on the further development of CASAG.”
