Svenska Spel goes live with DraftKings sportsbook platform
Swedish operator unveils new-look site having reached agreement with SBTech back in September 2019

Svenska Spel has launched a new DraftKings-powered sportsbook platform in the Swedish market.
The new site, built on software formerly known as SBTech, will aim to offer a wider range of available sports betting markets and new functionality including bet builder and cash out.
Svenska Spel first signed a sportsbook technology agreement with SBTech in September 2019 following a competitive procurement process.
That B2B contract then transitioned to DraftKings following its $3.3bn three-way merger with SBTech and Diamond Eagle Acquisition Corp (DEAC).
Dan Korhonen, Svenska Spel Sport & Casino head of product for sports betting and sportsbook integrity, said: “It feels incredibly good to finally be able to offer our customers a new sportsbook with all that it entails.
“We will continue to offer competitive odds together with fixed bet limits that apply to all customers,” Korhonen added.
Svenska Spel previously ran on an in-house platform using third-party feeds from companies including Sporting Solutions.
DraftKings chief international officer Shay Berka said: “Svenska Spel Sport & Casino is the leading operator in the Swedish market and together we will improve the gaming experience for players throughout Sweden.”
Svenska Spel’s Sport & Casino business was formed in 2019 as part of the country’s transition to a regulated online gambling market. Svenska Spel was formerly a monopoly operator.
