Bet365 tops Italian online betting rankings for June as normality is restored
Italy’s 18 biggest operators record highest combined online revenue total since February as bet365 brings in €9.3m

Bet365 has topped the rankings for Italy’s online sports betting market in June as the country’s gambling market rebounds from its coronavirus-induced downturn.
The Stoke-headquartered betting giant recorded €9.3m in online GGR for the month of June, an uptick on May’s figures (€6.3m) and more than double the GGR recorded in April (€4.6m), during the sector’s worst fiscal month of the Covid-19 crisis.
Playtech-owned Snaitech recorded the second highest GGR in June with €8.1m, while SKS365 (€7.6m), Sisal (€7.1m) and Goldbet (€6.6m) rounded off the top five and were the only operators to bring in more than €6m for the month.
Italy’s 18 biggest online operators earned their highest combined revenue total since February after the intermediate figures were slashed by cancelled sports and retail closures due to Covid-19.
Combined revenue for the power players reached €57m in June, up from €32.8m in May, driven by the return of global sport including Italian football’s top-tier Serie A on 20 June.
Bet365 also fought off competition in the turnover rankings for June, raking in €143.6m on a margin of 6.5%, to beat closest competitor Snaitech (€90.8m) on a margin of 11.8%.
Bet365 accrued 19.9% of market share as a percentage of turnover in June and 12.6% of market share as a percentage of GGR.
The operator was however beaten by Snaitech (13.4%) in the market share as a percentage of GGR rankings.
