Mishcon Accumulator Podcast: M&A deals that win
In this episode, Susan Breen, partner and head of the Betting & Gaming Group at Mishcon de Reya, and Paul Leyland, partner of Regulus Partners, share their views and experiences of the good and not-so-good M&A strategies in the betting and gaming sector over the years. They also cover how these M&A strategies have changed the sector and what they say about the future of the industry.
The podcast was recorded before the lockdown in the UK as a result of Covid-19, but the lessons to be learned from the sector’s M&A deals and the pros and cons of M&A versus organic growth remain the same. While Covid-19 has significantly changed the landscape bringing into focus discussions on business continuity versus exits, stock plays and private equity interest, supply chain reconsiderations, channel shift between land-based and online – alongside the sector’s heady cocktail of politics, protective legislation, health concerns and economic impact on customers – the fundamentals of good and bad M&A hold true.
The Mishcon Accumulator podcast, in association with EGR, is a series of podcasts exploring the latest trends and hot topics in the gambling sector.
