
Tote launches new website and ‘Tote Guarantee’ ahead of the Cheltenham Festival
Pooled-betting system aims to ensure punters receive win bet returns equal to or above the industry starting price


The UK Tote Group has unveiled a new website that includes a new dedicated digital pooled-betting product on horseracing.
Known as ‘Tote Guarantee’, the pooled betting system aims to match industry starting price (SP) or pay the pool price if the latter is bigger than the SP on all winning bets placed on the Tote website.
Tote Guarantee has been trialled at several racecourses throughout February and will additionally be tested at 12 other race meetings over the remainder of the month.
The new Tote website is available on desktop and mobile and UK Tote Group has said that further features will be added.
The launch of Tote Guarantee comes four months after the Alizeti Group completed its acquisition of the Tote in October 2019, subsequently rebranding to become UK Tote Group.
In November UK Tote Group announced a long-term partnership with Racing Post, which has seen the relaunch of its Tote Ten to Follow game.
Further enhancements to be added include bigger placepot pools, which will open earlier for future meetings such as the upcoming 2020 Cheltenham Festival in March.
A new content-based Tote Blog will launch this summer, together with the development of a new Tote mobile app.
UK Tote Group MD Mark Kemp said the enhancements were the result of feedback given by punters at its Tote Town Hall meetings, with the group aiming to deliver a value-led fun experience for bettors.
“The Tote offers unique multi-leg bets, including the placepot and jackpot, and we are focused on providing greater transparency about the size of the pools and related data to help customers make informed betting choices.
“This is just the start of the new era for the Tote. We have numerous new developments to roll out in the coming weeks and months during what promises to be a really exciting time for the Tote,” Kemp added.
