Genius Sports expands Bulgaria footprint with new Sofia office
Sports data supplier opens 400-employee space with staff able to move around by micro-scooter

Sports betting and data supplier Genius Sports has confirmed the opening of a new 400-employee capacity office in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
The company has confirmed the new office is part of a major expansion of its Sofia base and will act as the nerve centre for its data collection and monitoring operations.
Genius described the office as the “centre point” of its official data strategy of monetising the intellectual property of partner sports firms through its distribution channels within media and betting.
Its new office is located just off Tsarigradsko Shose, next to The Mall shopping centre within downtown Sofia, and covers two floors. The office features mini golf, games rooms, indoor basketball, hammocks, a library, TV rooms and Genius have said it will allow staff to travel by micro scooter.
The data firm confirmed it expects to double the size of its Bulgarian operations within the next 2-3 years.
Genius Sports has said it is aiming to recruit multiple DevOps and Cloud Engineers within the .NET, PHP and JavaScript development fields. Genius has been active in Bulgaria since 2015 and has since tripled its expansion in the central European country.
Stephen Gardner, chief services and delivery officer at Genius Sports Group highlighted the positive impact of the company’s expansion into Bulgaria, indicating that it had never “looked back” following the decision.
“The talent we’ve been able to attract has been hugely impressive, building one of our largest global locations and continually enhancing business-critical services that are used by the largest brands in sports and betting,” Gardner added.
