Gaming Innovation Group and Casumo join list of new Spanish licensees
GiG to enter Spanish online gaming market with Rizk and begin taking bets by Q4 2019

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) and Casumo have become the latest firms to receive Spanish licences from the Spanish gambling regulator, DGOJ.
GiG received two licences for online casino and sports betting, confirming its intention to enter the Spanish market with its flagship brand Rizk by Q4.
Robin Reed, GiG CEO, highlighted the Spanish market as the “strongest growing” online market in Europe, with year on year growth of more than 20%.
The operator said it is in the process of certifying its proprietary gaming platform and sportsbook with the aim of marketing both to external operators.
As part of these expansion plans, the company said it will look to scale up its Spanish operations during Q1 2020.
Earlier this week, LeoVegas received its Spanish licence, calling it an “important step” in its expansion into Spanish speaking markets, a sentiment which was echoed by GiG, which is also planning greater expansion into Latin America.
Fellow Maltese operator Casumo also received two Spanish licences for online casino and sports betting.
In a post on the company’s LinkedIn page, Casumo said it was “thrilled” by the licence award and wanted to play a part in shifting the Spanish market away from offline towards mobile and online gaming.
Last week, Casumo revealed it had signed a two-year sponsorship deal with English Championship football team Reading FC, as part of a prospective launch of its long-awaited sports betting business in the UK.
