Operator relocates to new office in London’s West End as part of “operational excellence programme”

The Stars Group has closed its office on Air Street in London’s West End as part of its “operational excellence programme”, EGR Intel has learned.
The Air Street office, which housed marketing services functions, was closed in February, with Stars moving some of the functions to a new “flexible and scalable workplace” on St Martin’s Lane, also in the West End.
Stars refused to be drawn on the number of staff being cut as part of the move, saying it did not comment on headcount matters that are currently pending.
A Stars spokesperson told EGR: “In November 2018, we informed colleagues there of our intention to relocate to a new flexible and scalable workplace also in London’s West End. The move was completed in February.
“Meanwhile, we continue to reinforce our global footprint elsewhere, with increased investment in important hubs such as Malta, the Isle of Man, Dublin and Leeds.”
Stars said the move was part of its previously announced operational excellence programme and continuing as part of the Sky Betting & Gaming integration plans.
The firm said 53% of the projected $70m synergies from the deal would come from headcount and other staff costs, with 23% from purchasing costs and 24% from other cost savings.
