Poll results: Mobile betting lacking in innovation
Majority of voters believe operators are not making the most of smartphone features

Operators are failing to innovate in the mobile betting space, a majority of this week’s poll voters have said.
Exactly 75% of readers agreed with former LeoVegas head of sports, Andreas Bardun, who recently accused the industry of “failing to make the most of mobile sports betting”.
“The market is very complacent and nobody is really changing to fit mobile. Every company claims to be thinking about mobile and say they want to be mobile-first, but we haven’t really seen that kind of innovation,” Bardun said.
It seems operators are starting to accept their shortfalls with firms like Sky Betting & Gaming looking outside the industry for innovation, and calling for start-ups to pitch them unique ideas on how to better innovate their sports betting products.
Similarly, Ladbrokes Coral has set up a new tech hub in Stratford to focus on its own sports product and technology operations.
The firm is in the process of bringing in new staff to develop new products.
However, 25% of poll voters think operators are already making full use of mobile devices.
