Betsafe hires Tony Bellew for “passion overcomes the odds” marketing campaign
Boxing champion signs 12 month deal with Betsson-owned sportsbook to drive emotive TV ads

Betsafe has signed a deal with boxing champion Tony Bellew to feature in the Betsson- owned sportsbook’s newest marketing campaign, “Passion Overcomes the Odds”.
The former WBC world cruiserweight champion will wear Betsafe’s branding on his training and fighting gear over the course of the 12 month sponsorship, while TV adverts were rolled out across Sky Sports, ITV, Channel 4 and Eurosports over the weekend.

Similar ads will also be played on cinema screens.
A Betsafe statement said the campaign aimed to reinforce the balance between “the cold mechanical nature of numbers and the warmer, more emotive passion from sportsmen and women”.
Betsafe global brand manager, Neill Simpson, commented: “There are glorious moments in sport when an underdog defies numbers, and stats no longer seem as relevant as intuition, drive and passion, which will always prevail in sport.”
Simpson added, “We are delighted to welcome Tony Bellew as a Betsafe ambassador. His passion and drive are completely in line with our campaign and we’re looking forward to working closely with him over the next 12 months.”
Bellew has joined a host of Betsafe brand ambassadors and sponsorships – including Harry Redknapp, Manchester City and Cage Warriors.
In February, Betsafe was the official sponsor of the highly anticipated Haye vs Bellew fight.
