WatchandWager targets financial traders with new brand
ADW operator aims to bring new customers into pari-mutuel pools using new “education vehicle”
WatchandWager has launched a new brand and website called Business Trading, designed to encourage financial traders to get involved with pari-mutuel wagering.
According to the firm, the new brand is an “education vehicle” for equity traders to facilitate their growth and success in pari-mutuel markets.
The project will see the Business Trading team reaching out and working with traders and helping them to develop and adapt their algorithmic trading models for the racing world.
WAW president Ed Comins said: “WAW believes that equity traders can succeed in the pari-mutuel pools given the similarities with equity markets. The participation and growth with this initiative is a big opportunity for the group and track partners looking to increase revenues derived from turnover.”
The service will also focus on high frequency trading, aiming to supply customers with direct access to live price/time data worldwide, and allowing for the “development of systematic algorithmic approaches”.
The push to get financial professionals involved with sports betting and trading is not a new idea, with the Betfair Exchange in New Jersey acknowledging that traders were a key target demographic upon launch.
