Penn National launches first Rocket-powered game
New social game Hollywood Classic Slots created in a âmatter of weeksâ after developer acquisition
The interactive division of Penn National Gaming has released its first game since the acquisition of developer Rocket Games, called Hollywood Classic Slots.
The social casino game, which includes more than 30 three- and five-reel slot titles, is available on iOS and Android with a web version expected to be released at Hollywoodcasino.com.
Penn National acquired Rocket back in early August for $60m cash and earn-outs up to $110m.
âRocket created Hollywood Classic Slots in a matter of weeks after we finalized our acquisition,â said Chris Sheffield, senior vice president of iGaming at Penn National.
âRocket is ranked in the top 15 global social casino segment because they work quickly, are results driven and deliver content and excitement that attracts players. With Rocketâs proven track record of popular slot titles, weâre confident this new product will provide our customers hours of action and excitement.â
âAfter our customers visit any of our 20 land-based casinos, we want them to have the option of continuing the fun of playing our exciting play for fun social slot games from the comfort of their own homes.â
Sheffield added that Penn would be integrating its Marquee Rewards loyalty program into Hollywood Classic Slots so customers could earn rewards online for use in the casino.
Bill Gelpi, the chief executive of Rocket, added, âWith Hollywood Classic Slots, weâve already started to realize strong install, retention and monetization metrics, and are optimistic that we have another successful game for our first joint game launch.â
