Golden Nugget breaks $6m monthly revenue barrier
Operator drives record-setting month for egaming sector in March
The Golden Nugget and its licensees cracked the $6m mark in March, setting a new state record just one month after breaking the $5m barrier for online revenues.
The Atlantic City casino increased its online revenues by almost $1m sequentially to $6.2m, a 101% year-on-year jump.
The Nugget led another impressive month for New Jersey’s five online gaming operators with total revenues increasing 40% year-on-year to $21.7m.
Online casino continued to do the heavy lifting, growing 49% to $19.5m, while online poker slipped back 9% to $2.3m.
David Rebuck, director of the division of gaming enforcement (DGE), called the March numbers “further proof of the industry’s stability during the past 18 months.”
“For the first three months of 2017, internet gaming revenue is up 32% compared to last year, and the industry is on pace for another record year,” he told NJ.com.
Resorts Digital enjoyed the largest growth in the market, with revenues up 124% year-on-year to $4.2m, lifting the operator to third in the market behind the Nugget and the Borgata, which grew 3% year-on-year to $4.4m.
The Tropicana also enjoyed a good month, growing 22% to $3.9m, while Caesars Interactive slipped back 0.4% year-on-year to $3.2m.
There were less positive results over in Delaware, where the state’s three egaming operators saw revenues drop by almost $100,000 sequentially, to $152,000.
