Telegraph makes real-money gaming play with new Predictor game
New format designed to “bridge the gap” between sports betting and traditional fantasy sports products

Telegraph Media Group has launched a new real-money and free-to-play betting game to sit alongside its traditional fantasy football product.
The Telegraph Predictor game, live at telegraph.co.uk/predictor, offers contests on 19 sports, including football, horseracing, UFC, golf and darts, across a range of formats such as Last Man Standing, Tipping and Daily Fantasy.
The games aim to “bridge the gap” between sportsbook and DFS, with a Pick 7 contest available on horseracing at Clonmel on Tuesday, alongside a fantasy tournament on the WGC Dell Matchplay golf.
Real-money and free play contests are available on the platform, which is provided by North London white label supplier i-pools.
“Telegraph Predictor is a key strategic launch in our plans for developing our range of betting and gaming services,” said Steve Stiles, head of interactive sport and gaming at the Telegraph Media Group.
“By teaming up with i-pools, the only B2B provider offering a multi-sport and multi-game format network, we are providing our players with a unique, user-friendly, series of games with real-time updates which are tailored to meet the demands our audience.”
“We love the fact that i-pools have already developed a loyalty programme providing users with meaningful bonusing based on activity, halls of fame and achievements to unlock, as well as having a deep understanding of social sharing, which we anticipate will enhance our players’ in-play tournament experience and drive increased engagement.”
I-pools said it will continue to grow its network throughout 2017, with the addition of new partners to add liquidity to games, as well as new sports and game formats.
Tristan McDonald, founder of i-pools, added: “Telegraph Fantasy Football is a national institution, and we are really excited to partner with one of the most innovative operators in that space.
“We have designed i-pools to offer partners a suite of games, tournaments and competitions that bridge the gap between their traditional fantasy games and fixed odds sports betting.
“The integration of a network of play-for-money games provides daily revenue generating promotions, as well as the opportunity to deliver audience engagement via free-to-play games for The Telegraph as well as their advertisers and brand partners.”
The Telegraph joins a growing number of UK newspapers with real-money gaming, including The Express and The Sun.
