Nektan acquires digital marketing firm from Betfred founder
Supplier takes full control of joint venture it set up with Fred Done and ActiveWin Media’s Warren Jacobs in 2015
Nektan has announced the acquisition of Nektan Marketing Services, a joint venture set up between the mobile games supplier, Betfred founder Fred Done and ActiveWin Media MD Warren Jacobs.
The digital marketing firm was first announced in September 2015 and was set up to increase revenue for Nektan’s third-party brands by combining its gaming technology with Jacobs and Done’s acquisition and retention expertise.
Following the deal, Nektan has entered into a new marketing services contract with ActiveWin for one year for certain player marketing services.
The platform’s acquisition tactics include PPC, affiliate marketing and media buying.
Gary Shaw, interim CEO at Nektan, said: “With the evolution of our business, and strong growth in revenues, the timing was right to acquire full control of Nektan Marketing Services.
“The move will allow us to integrate a slick, full turnkey solution for operators in-house. The expectation is that we will build on the considerable knowledge base and success of NMS under the guidance of Warren and Fred.”
According to a statement this morning, Nektan will purchase the remaining shares in the digital marketing business for £500,000 in cash.
Fred Done, founder of Betfred, added: “This joint venture perfectly demonstrates our ability to inject strong industry knowledge and highly effective marketing services to the gaming sector.
“We are delighted with the results for NMS and therefore, Nektan PLC and look forward to facing new challenges head-on in the global gaming arena.”
In other Nektan news today, the firm also reported a 130% year-on-year rise in FY17 net gaming revenue following a 165% increase in first time depositors.
Full-year revenues stood at £13.1m for the 12-month period, up from £5.7m in the previous year, while FTDs increased to 130,105.
Nektan also announced The Company is pleased to announce that Sagi Lahav, formerly CEO and MD of Mansion Group, has joined the Company as interim chief operating officer effect from 3 July 2017.
